Meta-Merchant

Legend says there be only one merchant,
One who supplies everything.
Be wary in business with this busy being,
For the currency is not only coin.
Knowledge will cost a few corpses,
Wisdom will cost a memory,
Pleasure will cost its equivalent pain,
And
Freedom will cost a lake worth of blood.
For those who seek to deal with Him,
Be wary,
For currency is truly commodity,
But not that illusion of exchange.
For He who has everything has nothing
To lose,
So,
What does he truly take from you?
Alas a wise man wakes,
And offers a tear for the Truth.
Everything will cost only Nothing,
Love will cost long loss.
And so,
By the Meta-Merchant’s fair decree,
Life will cost merely death,
And,
Only foolishness comes for free.
